CMA Media, the communications arm of the French shipping company, has finalized the acquisition of Brut., the leading European news outlet on TikTok and Instagram, and a leader in Francophone Africa and India.
With this operation, CMA Media becomes a player in the French media landscape, targeting all audiences and covering all channels: regional and national press, television, radio, and social networks. The brand will accumulate nearly 25 billion video views on social networks and the web, becoming the leading digital media group. The group will also have the second-largest newsroom in France (and the first in the private sector) with more than 1600 journalists.
Brut. is present in over 100 countries, including the United States, and reaches over 500 million viewers each month with an organic audience on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat.
The integration of Brut. marks the creation of a third strategic pillar within CMA Media: the social media hub, alongside the press and audiovisual hubs. As it continues its development, Brut. will bring the group unique expertise in social networks, in a context of transformation in information and entertainment consumption habits.
