Crociere, Ritz-Carlton bets on Italian ports

Must read

The Belpaese confirms itself as a central destination for travelers in the ultra-luxury segment

Civitavecchia – There is a lot of Italy in The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection’s luxury Mediterranean. The company, which redefines the concept of cruising by proposing small-sized yachts with five-star service, has officially opened bookings for its 2027 European season, scheduled from April to October, with over 50 voyages aboard its two ships, the pioneering Evrima and the new superyacht Ilma.
The Belpaese confirms itself as a central destination for travelers in the ultra-luxury segment. The 2027 itineraries, in fact, were designed to offer a deeper exploration experience and prolonged stops, and will include a rich selection of ports in their calendar, guaranteeing privileged access to a variety of unique landscapes and cultures.
The sailing will touch, first and foremost, the major hubs that serve as gateways to the most famous art cities: the luxurious yachts will be based or stop in Civitavecchia (Rome), Livorno (an ideal point for excursions to Florence and Pisa) and Naples, offering direct connections to some of the world’s most famous historical and artistic destinations.
The focus then shifts to the exclusive charm of the coast: along the Riviera di Levante, a stop in the iconic village of Portofino will be a must, to which the nearby Marina di Carrara will be added. Going up the Adriatic, the route will take guests to the elegance of Venice and the Austro-Hungarian atmosphere of Trieste, often used as perfect starting or ending points for cruises extending towards Croatia and Montenegro.
But the true richness of the offer is manifested in the island calls and the highly evocative minor ports. In Sicily, the itinerary will not be limited to the major centers, but will embrace a route that includes Palermo, Syracuse, the picturesque Taormina (Naxos) and Trapani, allowing guests to discover the island’s historical and gastronomic richness from multiple perspectives. Sardinia will be no less, where the Costa Smeralda will be accessible thanks to calls at Alghero and the prestigious Porto Cervo. Furthermore, the yachts will stop at Portoferraio on the Island of Elba.
Finally, for those seeking the vibrant charm of Campania, calls are scheduled in magnificent Sorrento, as well as in the nearby Amalfi and Salerno, while in the Heel of Italy, Puglia will be represented by Gallipoli.
This careful selection of ports, as highlighted by the company, reflects the goal of balancing cities of international appeal with less trafficked destinations, allowing guests to experience each place with targeted excursions and “insider” access, in perfect harmony with the spirit of an extra-luxury yacht journey.
