The project for the New Multipurpose Port Terminal of Eten will require an investment of 527 million dollars and aims to boost the logistics, commerce, and development of the Peruvian Northern Macro Region, in conjunction with the bioceanic corridor, stated the Regional Government of Lambayeque.

The new facility will have 640 meters of dock, distributed across three specialized fronts: minerals, multipurpose, and containers. Likewise, it will have a 45,000 square meter backup area in the container sites and will feature an ethanol terminal with a multibuoy system.

The Regional Government of Lambayeque stated that with a privileged location, modern infrastructure, and a sustainable vision, the new port terminal is poised to become the new logistics hub of the Northern Macro Region.

“The Port Terminal of Eten, the dream of Pope Leo XIV, begins a new stage as a feeder port within the national port system. It seeks to complement Paita, Salaverry, Chancay, and Callao, promoting logistical decentralization and generating more commerce, investment, and development for Lambayeque and northern Peru,” it explained.

The port project comprises a total area of 739 hectares and will have a draft of approximately 15 meters, and will feature three specialized docks with a total length of 640 meters, dedicated to bulk cargo, multipurpose operations, and containers.

It will be able to conduct operations without dredging for vessels of up to 100,000 DWT (/Post Panamax) and will have a Multibuoy Terminal, as well as maritime and land facilities for liquid cargo operations and will have a 2,100-meter bidirectional viaduct.

The land-based facilities will include warehouses for general mineral cargo, a new 10-kilometer access road, and a direct connection with the Pan-American Highway.

Complementarily, the development of an industrial park and a wind farm, a mining zone, among others, will be promoted, which will connect through a route with Brazil to serve the markets of Asia.
