Salerno Container Terminal has announced that three new Reach Stackers produced by Cvs have been delivered, destined to enhance the full container yard operations of the Campanian terminal. These are three Mod. F500 RS3 Energy Saving machines with a stacking capacity of high-cube containers in the sixth tier and a lifting capacity of 46 tonnes.
The three machines are part of the broader investment plan which foresees the delivery in total of four reach stackers (yard vehicles) for full containers, two front lifts for empty containers, one Liebherr Rtg (gantry crane) for 10+1 container rows wide and 6+1 high, and an electric Gottwald crane capable of working ships with 23 container rows in width (15,000 TEU capacity) with an overall investment of approximately 15 million.
Also according to the terminal operator, the delivery of the three new machines coincides with the performance of a record month: July 2025 showed, compared to the same month last year, a growth of approximately 18% in container handling.
“Our commercial and operational strategy – specifies the president Agostino Gallozzi – continues to confirm its validity year after year: constant improvement of quality and continuous growth. Investments in advanced port technology, now also with the shift to all-electric, together with young and motivated human resources, thirty new hires this year, are going exactly in this direction. The remarkable growth results recorded also in the month of July are the best proof of this”.
