40 million kroner for the future of Blue Denmark

Must read

The Danish Maritime Fund allocates 40 million kroner over the next two years to translate the Growth Team’s recommendations for The Blue Denmark into concrete initiatives. The funds are to support Denmark’s position in the global maritime sector

In March, the Growth Team for The Blue Denmark delivered its 20 recommendations to the government.

Now, The Danish Maritime Fund has decided to allocate 40 million kroner over the next two years to support activities that can bring the recommendations to life in practice.

– We exist to contribute to the growth in the future Blue Denmark – and therefore it is important for us to support the sector’s and thus the government’s work with the blue growth plan, says the fund’s director, Lotte G. Lundberg in a press release.

Minister for Industry Morten Bødskov (S) calls the effort a strong signal:

– The investment from The Danish Maritime Fund is a strong signal that we are united in ensuring a greener and more globally competitive blue Denmark.

– The fund contributes directly to ensuring that the Growth Team’s recommendations do not just remain words. They are translated into real development that secures the green course for The Blue Denmark, says Minister for Industry, Morten Bødskov (S).

The 40 million kroner will be distributed through four annual distribution rounds over the next two years, where applications must be based on the Growth Team’s five focus areas – including innovation, green transition, and skills for the future workforce.
