On the morning of July 23rd, Zhoushan Xinqi Heavy Industry held a signing ceremony with Shandong Hengqiang Shipping Co., Ltd. and Zhousan Hengyao Shipping Co., Ltd. at the Xinqi Changtu Base for the construction contract of 4+4 1056TEU container ships.
This series of vessels are internationally operated feeder container ships, compliant with the latest IACS/E27 cybersecurity specifications. Designed with a capacity of 1056TEU, including 120TEU refrigerated containers, the ships measure 136.8 meters in length, 23.3 meters in beam, and 11.2 meters in depth, with a maximum speed of 16.3 knots and a maximum deadweight tonnage of 12,000DWT.
The successful signing of the 4+4 1056TEU container ship (JXQ0029~JXQ0036) construction contract marks another significant breakthrough for Zhoushan Xinqi Heavy Industry, following bulk orders for stainless steel chemical tankers and MPP multi-purpose bulk carriers. This further validates the company’s equipment, facilities, and production management team’s construction capabilities and market competitiveness.
This signing demonstrates Zhoushan Xinqi Heavy Industry’s profound expertise and strength in the container ship construction sector, while also reflecting Shandong Hengqiang Shipping’s determination and goals to further expand its presence in the feeder container market.
It is reported that Shandong Hengqiang Shipping was established in 2016 with a registered capital of 50 million yuan. Its business scope includes domestic coastal and Yangtze River general cargo shipping, international vessel transportation, international maritime auxiliary services, freight forwarding (sea, land, and air), ship management, coal wholesale, sales of steel and coke, and vessel trading.
