Container ship Heinrich Ehler (IMO 9372200)
collided with dredger Scheldeoord (MMSI 244780958)on September
12th in Brunsbuettel, Germany, near Northern Lock. The dredger was reported
as seriously damaged. The container ship resumed its transit later the same day
and by September 13th was sailing in the Baltic Sea, about to arrive at Gdansk,
its port of destination. As of September 14th it had left Gdansk and
was heading for Norrkoping, Sweden, ETA September 15th.
2008-built, Portugal-flagged, 17,488 gt Heinrich Ehler is
owned by Heinrich Ehler Heinz Ehler care of Reederei Heinz Ehler
Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH (Reederei Ehler) of Otterndorf-Niederelbe,
Germany.
The dredger Scheldeoord is 657 gt, built 2013, and sails
under the Netherlands flag.
Four people were reported arrested by the Durrës police in
Albania after they were alleged to have transported 2,275 tons of contraband
oil from Libya to Albania aboard tankship Queen Majeda (IMO 9117806),
which was stopped on September 12th. Six associates were reported as being “under
investigation”. The captain of the ship was one of those arrested. The tanker,
the oil and some mobile devices were seized. Evidential materials were passed
to the Prosecution at the Court of the Durrës Judicial District under the
charge of “smuggling of goods for which excise duty (should be) paid”, “Storage
or deposit of contraband goods” and “Smuggling by the captain, pilot or crew”.
As of September 14th the vessel was at Durres Port, Albania.

Majeda is owned by Eldawadi Shipping Ltd care of Anadolu Sanayi ve Dis Ticaret
Ltd of Istanbul, Turkey.
General cargo ship Hilal Bay (IMO 9141912) which ran
aground on May 1st with a cargo of wheat when it was 17nm north of
Ventspils, Latvia, suffering damage to the tank area, was granted a single
towage after temporary repairs from the classification society, the flag state
authority and the Harbour Master. On July 25th tug Christos XXXIV (IMO 7907415) took the ship in tow from Riga anchorage, Latvia to Yalova,
north-west Turkey, with an ETA at Yalova of September 13th. No AIS since the
beginning of July, when the vessel was still at Riga, Latvia.
1996-built, Vanuatu-flagged, 7,000 gt Hilal Bey is owned
by Hopemar Trading Ltd care of manager Menas Trading Ltd of Istanbul, Turkey.
ISM manager is Ranmarine Denizcilik of Istanbul, Turkey.
