Semco signs big North Sea contract with TotalEnergies

Must read

The Danish offshore service operator says it counts on hiring a ”significant number” of workers on land and at sea as part of the new agreement entailing more than a million labor hours.

Semco Maritime and TotalEnergies are extending their cooperation with a new major contract from the French oil company, reports Danish newspaper Jydske Vestkysten.

The deal, covering the period November 2022 to October 2027, reportedly carries a value beyond DKK 1bn (EUR 134m), according to the media.

“We are very pleased to strengthen our already close ties with TotalEnergies with the signing of this important contract, which we consider a vote of confidence after years of great cooperation,” writes Semco Maritime Senior Vice President of Oil & Gas Anders Benfeldt in a press release:

”Ensuring efficient operations and a stable energy supply from the North Sea is of critical importance to TotalEnergies and the Danish people, and we are committed to provide an excellent team with a stellar track-record to get this job done.”

Semco informs in the statement that this extended collaboration with the French supermajor – the Danish North Sea’s main operator – will create synergies between projects, ”ensuring smoother operations and swift assistance based on closer working relationships and deeper understanding of the specific conditions and needs on each offshore installation,” adding:

”The closer ties will contribute to ensuring efficient operations, ultimately securing the Danish energy supply from the North Sea with the Tyra project as a particular important priority.”

In force since Nov. 1, 2022, the contract provides a long planning horizon enabling Semco to ”attract, retain and further develop highly skilled onshore and offshore workers for the contract and future assignments.”
