US Coast Guard Seizes Iranian Weapons En Route To Yemeni Rebels In Arabian Sea

Must read

The U.S. forces have reportedly seized many advanced but conventional weapons as well as other lethal aid via Iran that were headed for the Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen aboard a vessel in the waters of the Arabian Sea on 28 January, the U.S. Central Command mentioned in its statement on Thursday.

More than 200 packages with components of medium-range ballistic missiles, unmanned underwater or surface vehicle (UUV or USV) components, explosives, military-grade communication as well as other network equipment, anti-tank guided missile launcher assemblies, along with other military components had been discovered on board.

Iran’s continuous supply of advanced conventional weapons to Houthis keeps on undermining the safety of worldwide shipping as well as the free flow of commerce, Michael Erik Kurilla, the U.S. Centcom commander, stated.

The Houthis in Yemen have been launching drones as well as missiles against worldwide commercial shipping since mid-November, mentioning that they have been acting to show support and solidarity with the Palestinians against Israeli military actions in Gaza.
