Turkish grain production is estimated to be 37.4 million tonnes in 2025, down 4.1% from the previous year, the Turkish Statistics Institute said on Friday, after Turkey’s major fruit crops were damaged by a severe frost earlier this year.
It said Turkish 2025 wheat production was estimated to be 19.6 million tonnes, down 5.8% from a year earlier.
Barley production was estimated to be 7.5 million tonnes, down 8% year-on-year, while fruit production – hit the most by the frost – was estimated to be 21.4 million tonnes, down 24.4% from the previous year.
