Entering the third quarter, Fujian Shipbuilding seized the momentum to redouble its efforts, focusing on its main shipbuilding models, overcoming construction bottlenecks, deepening chain collaboration, and strengthening resource coordination and scheduling. With greater determination and stronger measures, the company is sprinting toward its annual targets.
**Delivery of Marine Ecological Environment Monitoring and Law Enforcement Vessel**
On July 11, Funing Heavy Industry, a subsidiary of Fujian Shipbuilding, successfully delivered the “China Environmental Monitoring Fujian 001,” a marine ecological environment monitoring, investigation, and law enforcement vessel built for the Xiamen Environmental Monitoring Center Station of Fujian Province.
This vessel is Fujian’s first marine ecological environment monitoring and research ship, with an overall length of 55.20 meters, a beam of 10.30 meters, a depth of 4.60 meters, a full-load draft of 2.70 meters, and a full-load displacement of 960 tons. It operates in China’s coastal waters and is classified by the China Classification Society (CCS). Primarily used for marine ecological environment monitoring and investigation within Fujian’s jurisdictional waters, it has the capability for near-shore comprehensive marine environmental monitoring, high-fidelity sampling, and partial on-site analysis. The vessel integrates multiple functions, including marine environment monitoring, emergency response, law enforcement, scientific research, public education, and serves as a patriotic education base.
Fujian Shipbuilding will take the delivery of this vessel as an opportunity to anchor its commitment to the overarching goals of “blue skies, clear waters, clean seas, and unpolluted land,” forging ahead on the path of ecological province construction and supporting the high-quality development of marine ecological environment monitoring.
**Commencement of 85-Meter Subsea Support and Maintenance Vessel**
On July 11, Funing Heavy Industry, a subsidiary of Fujian Shipbuilding, commenced construction of the 85-meter subsea support and maintenance vessel (FN85M-SSMV-8).
The vessel has an overall length of 85 meters, a beam of 22 meters, a depth of 8 meters, a design draft of 6.2 meters, a gross tonnage of approximately 5,200 tons, and a design speed of 12.5 knots. It will fly a flag of convenience and be classified by ABS, operating in unlimited navigation areas. The all-welded steel-structured vessel is equipped with two bow thrusters, three main generators, two fully rotating rudder propellers, two anchor winches, an unmanned engine room, a helicopter platform, a moon pool, and accommodates 200 crew members.
**Triumphant Sea Trials of 85,000-DWT Multipurpose Pulp Carrier**
Recently, the 85,000-DWT multipurpose pulp carrier (MW466-2), built by Fujian Shipbuilding’s subsidiary Mawei Shipbuilding, successfully completed its sea trials, marking the countdown to its official delivery.
During the trials, despite the extremely high workload, all participants demonstrated exceptional responsibility, racing against time to advance various tests. To ensure seamless and efficient progress of all inspection items, the project team meticulously planned and organized the work, adopting a flexible, opportunistic, and step-by-step closure strategy. They adjusted the test plan based on actual conditions and effectively scheduled test items, successfully completing all tasks, including speed tests, main engine load assessments, and vessel performance evaluations—all meeting design requirements.
The successful sea trials not only comprehensively validated the vessel’s construction quality but also vividly reflected Fujian Shipbuilding’s ability to overcome challenges and pursue excellence under high-intensity, fast-paced conditions. Next, the project team will further solidify pre-delivery preparations to ensure the vessel is delivered with high quality.
