According to the Yachting Industry Safety Development Forum held for China Navigation Day 2025, Hainan Province recorded 132,000 yacht port entries and exits and hosted 971,000 tourists in the first half of this year. Hainan is accelerating its transformation from a regional tourist destination into a national yachting consumption hub.
The forum, co-hosted by the Hainan Provincial Department of Transport and Hainan Maritime Safety Administration, centered on the theme “Safety Leads the Way, Building the Future of Yachting Together.” It featured 11 discussion topics, including “Establishing a New Yacht Supervision System,” “Opportunities and Challenges for the Yachting Industry in Hainan Free Trade Port,” “Safety Culture Education in the Yachting Industry,” and “Yacht Technology and Safety.” The event further consolidated consensus on strengthening safety management, technological innovation, and regulatory improvements.
It is reported that Hainan not only boasts natural resources ideal for yachting tourism but has also introduced a series of reform measures to support the industry, such as improving yacht leasing regulations and relaxing crew quota restrictions. In 2024, Hainan recorded 224,000 yacht port entries and exits, welcoming 1.477 million tourists.
