Mr. Prakash Bhoopatkar, Vice President of CHELLSHIP Shipping, praised the Crown 63 3.0 bulk carrier as a forward-looking vessel with fuel-saving and high-quality features. He described it as a successful example of collaboration among CHELLSHIP Shipping, Sumec Marine, and Xindayang Shipbuilding, expressing hope for more cooperation opportunities in the future to foster a long-lasting relationship.

On July 25, Xindayang Shipbuilding held the delivery ceremony for the first Crown 63 3.0 bulk carrier “PRINCESS EIRINI,” built for Greece’s JME Shipping. At the ceremony, Mr. George Drainakis, Technical Director of the shipowner, stated that the delivery of the first of three Crown 63 3.0 bulk carriers marked a proud milestone, symbolizing the hard work, collaboration, and shared ambitions of all parties involved.

It is reported that Sumec Marine’s Crown 63 PLUS (CROWN63 3.0 version), developed in collaboration with a Japanese design firm, features optimized hull lines and energy-saving designs, achieving an upgraded version of the superior vessel type. The cargo capacity has significantly increased, while speed and fuel consumption metrics show notable improvements over the CROWN63 2.0 version. The EEDI value far exceeds the baseline, making it a top performer among Phase 3 vessels.

Building on the original brand vessel, this model has undergone comprehensive upgrades, delivering superior performance in multiple aspects: cargo capacity, speed, and fuel consumption have significantly improved, meeting the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) Phase 3 requirements and Tier 3 emission standards. The design incorporates green concepts, with optimized hull lines further enhancing energy-saving and emission-reduction advantages. The product series continues to offer configurable options, including low-resistance paint, scrubbers, high-voltage shore power systems, and smart ship systems, catering to diverse operational needs of different shipowners.

Looking ahead, Sumec Marine will accelerate the cultivation of new productive forces, enhance independent R&D capabilities, drive technological and product innovation, and forge differentiated core competitiveness. The company aims to repay customers’ support and trust with even better vessel designs and services, contributing to the realization of a strong shipbuilding and maritime nation.
