On August 4th, another pair of “heavy-duty assets” was added to Pier No. 2 and Dock No. 2 of China Merchants Industry Qingdao Shipyard. The newly configured 50/100-type and 50/70-type portal cranes successfully passed acceptance inspections and entered the trial operation phase. The deployment of these two critical pieces of equipment will significantly enhance the company’s ship outfitting and construction efficiency, laying a solid foundation for increased production capacity.
During the acceptance process, both units smoothly passed no-load, rated load, and overload tests. Inspections confirmed that the four major mechanisms—hoisting, luffing, rotating, and traveling—operated stably, while safety devices such as limit protection and emergency braking fully complied with technical specifications. All performance metrics met standards, establishing a robust safety barrier for subsequent high-intensity operations.
Moving forward, China Merchants Industry Qingdao Shipyard will continue to intensify upgrades to production equipment and advance intelligent transformation efforts, steadily strengthening hardware support for shipbuilding and aiding the company in becoming China’s leading commercial vessel construction base.
