On the morning of August 5th, Jiangsu Hantong Marine Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd. held a grand delivery ceremony for the fourth 63,500 DWT bulk carrier, the “HG HOUSTON,” built for Taiwan’s Chengde Marine.
This marks the seventh vessel successfully delivered by Hantong Marine this year. The ship is not only the final project for Chengde Marine but also another outstanding achievement following the successful “cloud delivery” of two sister ships to a Norwegian shipowner in the first half of the year.
The vessel has an overall length of 199.9 meters, a beam of 32.26 meters, a depth of 18.9 meters, and a structural draft of 13.5 meters, classified by Lloyd’s Register. It was completed through the collaborative efforts of the shipowner, Lloyd’s Register, the ship management team, the supervision team, and the shipyard staff.
Guests from the shipowner, design institute, classification society, bank, and other parties, as well as Hantong Marine’s leadership, attended the event to extend their best wishes for the new vessel. Mr. Wang Mingjian named the new ship “HG HOUSTON,” and the godmother, Ms. Luo Lin Guizhu, performed the champagne christening ceremony. May the new ship ride the wind and waves, traverse rivers and seas, bring wealth and honor to the shipowner, ensure safe voyages for the crew, and open a new chapter in long-distance navigation.
Cai Bangquan, Chairman of Chengde Marine, and Jin Xing, Chairman of Hantong Marine, signed the delivery documents on behalf of both parties.
