Sinobunker, a COSCO subsidiary, has completedtheworld’s first green ammonia bunkering operation. The operation took placeatCOSCO Shipping Heavy Industry’sDalian terminal onJuly 25.
The green ammonia usedin thisbunkering operation was entirely produced with renewable electricity, and received certification from Bureau Veritas.
“Thiszero-carbon green ammonia bunkeringoperation is more than just an industry breakthrough, but also atransformational leapfor China’s shipping sector toachieve the nation’s carbonneutrality and carbon peaking goals,” COSCO stated in a release.
