On August 15, the 1080TEU open-top container ship “Huaguang Linghang,” built by Hunan Jinhang Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. for Huaguangyuanhai International Logistics Group Co., Ltd., was launched.

The ship measures 129.98 meters in length, 23.9 meters in width, and 11 meters in depth, with a cargo capacity of 14,000 tons, making it the largest container ship on the Yangtze River inland waterways. Its launch marks the official entry of Yuanjiang shipbuilding into a “new era of shipbuilding,” creating two new milestones for Hunan’s shipbuilding industry and inland shipping on the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River.

Adhering to the development philosophy of “innovation-led, green intelligent manufacturing, quality first, and pursuit of excellence,” Jinhang Shipbuilding upholds the service principle of “customer first, win-win cooperation.” Construction of the “Huaguang Linghang” began on January 22 this year. Jinhang Shipbuilding organized professional management, technical, and construction teams, optimizing processes such as 3D modeling pre-outfitting and segmented assembly precision control. Through meticulous craftsmanship, the ship was completed and launched in less than seven months, two months ahead of schedule, with excellent and refined manufacturing quality. This fully demonstrates Jinhang Shipbuilding’s strong contract fulfillment capabilities and superb shipbuilding expertise as a national-level specialized, sophisticated, and innovative “little giant” enterprise.

Through this collaboration, Jinhang Shipbuilding and Huaguangyuanhai have deepened mutual trust and established a long-term cooperative relationship. In July this year, Huaguangyuanhai and Jinhang Shipbuilding signed a strategic cooperation agreement for the construction of new energy ships, stipulating that Jinhang Shipbuilding will build five LNG-powered new energy container ships—the largest of their kind for specific domestic routes—for Huaguangyuanhai over the next three years.

Just this week, on August 11, the two companies signed a construction contract for an LNG-powered open-top river-sea direct container ship. This is the first LNG-powered container ship to be built following their strategic cooperation agreement and will soon commence construction. Upon completion, it will become the largest river-sea direct container ship on the Yangtze River route, serving as a landmark project for the green transformation of Yangtze River shipping.
