Ningbo Zhoushan Port’s First Full Logistics Channel from Henan to Vietnam Opens

Must read

Enhancing the efficiency of river-sea intermodal logistics to open new pathways for “Henan goods” to go global

Ningbo Zhoushan Port’s first full logistics channel from Henan to Vietnam is operational

On the evening of August 15, the ship “Ning Yuan Gao Xiong,” carrying 22 standard containers of chemical fertilizer, began docking at Ho Chi Minh Port in Vietnam. Prior to this, the shipment of fertilizer originated from Luohe, Henan, arrived at Ningbo Zhoushan Port via river-sea intermodal transport, and then set sail aboard the “Ning Yuan Gao Xiong.” This marks the official opening of Ningbo Zhoushan Port’s first full logistics channel from Henan to Vietnam.

The opening of this channel holds profound significance. As a key hub along this route, Ningbo Zhoushan Port has further unleashed its shipping route resources and land-sea coordination efficiency, consolidating and enhancing its position in global shipping trade; the Henan region will broaden its foreign trade channels, reduce logistics costs, significantly accelerate the process of “Henan goods” going global, and help local enterprises better integrate into the international market; Vietnam will gain more stable and efficient goods supply channels, promoting optimized resource allocation and industrial synergistic development within the region.

It is not easy to smooth the logistics channel between China’s inland hinterland and the Southeast Asian market. Just at the customs level, seamless connection of logistics supervision operations is required.

To this end, Ningbo Customs has closely cooperated with customs authorities along the route and innovatively launched a “one-stop” supervision model for river-sea intermodal transport. By moving clearance procedures such as declaration, inspection, and release to the inland port, enterprises can complete all procedures through the “Single Window” system. Upon arrival at Ningbo Zhoushan Port, goods can be directly loaded onto ships without secondary inspection, improving overall logistics efficiency by over 30% and reducing logistics costs by more than 100 yuan per container.

This seamless connection of “inland dry port + coastal hub port” allows Henan enterprises to enjoy the convenience of “shipping from their doorstep.”

Wen Peng, Manager of the Business Department of Henan Yu Hai New Channel Operation and Management Co., Ltd., did the math: “Using the new channel reduces logistics costs by about 15%, and the order delivery cycle is shortened from 15 days to 9 days. Customer satisfaction has improved, and our competitiveness in the Southeast Asian market is stronger.”

To further enhance the efficiency of river-sea intermodal logistics, Ningbo Customs has continuously simplified transit procedures, eliminated the need for sealing and inspection operations for waterway transit goods, and fully realized paperless and automated water-to-water transfer operations. This allows goods from the inland economic belt to more efficiently connect with the global market via Ningbo Zhoushan Port, forming a logistics pattern of “connecting rivers to the sea and linking with the globe.”
