Approval from the ZLS Steering Committee
Today the ZLS Steering Committee approved the expansion of the Simplified Logistics Zone (ZLS) of the Ports and Hinterlands of Genoa, with the inclusion of new strategic areas in the territory of Savona, Vado Ligure and Bergeggi. The Port System Authority of the Western Ligurian Sea highlighted that the extension of the perimeter – made possible by the transitional transfer of 454.66 hectares by the Lombardy Region – represents a fundamental step for the strengthening of the integrated Ligurian-Piedmontese logistics system and for the full enhancement of the productive potential of the Savona area. The inclusion of the state-owned port areas of Savona, Vado Ligure and Bergeggi together with the state-owned “ex Funivie” compounds, currently under commissarial management, makes it possible to transform local logistics infrastructures into advanced poles of economic development with high added value, capable of attracting manufacturing companies, innovative technologies and long-term investments.
During the meeting, the Committee also approved the extension of the deadlines for the submission of expressions of interest for establishment in the enclosed Customs Free Zone, postponing the deadline to October 28, 2025, also in light of the recent publication of the call in multiple languages to encourage international participation.
