DFactory Barcelona, the international reference Industry 4.0 ecosystem driven by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), will host the first edition of the ‘Global AM Hubs Summit’ from September 16 to 18, the major international forum and meeting point for additive manufacturing in Europe. This is a pioneering international event that will bring together the main leaders, organizations, hubs, associations, and entities of the Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) ecosystem, in addition to a multitude of technology provider companies from across the entire spectrum of the additive manufacturing industry value chain.

The celebration of the ‘Global AM Hubs Summit’, which will have the support of the CZFB as the event’s institutional partner, will mark the official launch of Addliance, the new European alliance of European 3D printing hubs. Addliance’s main mission is to structure a stable and collaborative international framework that promotes the adoption of these technologies and is promoted by entities, organizations, sectoral entities, and institutions from all over Europe.

The celebration of the Global AM Hubs Summit will mark a milestone by bringing together for the first time more than 20 additive manufacturing hubs and organizations from across Europe, along with industrial leaders, experts, sector associations, universities, and institutional representatives who are leading the transformation of advanced manufacturing. This first edition will feature a comprehensive focus on people, planet, and prosperity and will address key topics such as the impact of additive manufacturing on different activity sectors (health, mobility, defense, sustainability…), talent development and specialized training, cross-border cooperation, and the role of additive technologies in Europe’s industrial resilience and competitiveness.

3D Printing Ecosystems

The Special State Delegate of the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), Pere Navarro, commented that “we are very satisfied that DFactory Barcelona is the meeting place for this first gathering and this important international forum that will bring together the main 3D printing and additive manufacturing ecosystems in Europe. This is a historic milestone that will allow, through public-private alliances, to project a shared vision of the transformative role of additive technologies in industry, and all of this will happen in Barcelona, specifically at DFactory.”

For her part, Blanca Sorigué, general director of the CZFB, added that “the celebration of such an important international event as the Global AM Hubs Summit reaffirms DFactory Barcelona as the reference Industry 4.0 ecosystem in Europe and the cathedral of the digital transformation of industry.”

The Global AM Hubs Summit, in addition to a comprehensive conference program with debate sessions, round tables, and presentations, will also feature live demonstrations and practical experiences to get a close-up look at the potential of additive technologies. It will also have an ‘Application & Technology Showroom’ at DFactory Barcelona, where the main companies in the sector will exhibit their solutions, materials, software, demonstrations, and real success stories of AM application in different fields. The event will also present various institutional and industrial networking activities, as well as a program of visits to centers of excellence and innovative companies in the additive manufacturing ecosystem in Catalonia.
