The “Regulation Amending the Ports Regulation” prepared by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure entered into force by being published in the Official Gazette.
Accordingly, ships and sea vehicles, without calling at any port or coastal facility, for reasons such as waiting for voyage instructions, procuring spare parts or technicians due to a breakdown, sheltering due to bad weather conditions, crew changes, and excuses accepted by the port authority, may anchor in designated areas within the port without obtaining an anchoring order by informing the port authority, or if available, the Vessel Traffic Services Center or the pilotage organization by radio from the vessel’s location. The fees to be collected from these vessels will be collected in accordance with the relevant legislation, taking into account the specified periods.
With the amendment, the special provisions of the regulation for the Kocaeli Regional Port Authority were also regulated.
Accordingly, the passage of ships and sea vehicles with an air draft of 64 meters and more under the Osmangazi Bridge will be prohibited. The procedures and principles regarding the passage of ships and sea vehicles with an air draft between 60 and 64 meters under the bridge will be determined by the administration.
With the regulation, the area coordinates of some port authorities have also been redefined.
