Germany: Changes Announced to HHLA Supervisory Board

HHLA announced that Marcus Vitt will be a member and chairman of the Supervisory Board as of October 1, 2025, who will succeed Dr. Rüdiger Grube, who will leave the body on September 30. Senator Andreas Dressel and Katharina Kriston will also take up duties on the Council.

On behalf of HHLA’s majority shareholder, Port of Hamburg (PoH), Senator Melanie Leonhard stated that “I would like to thank Prof. Dr. Rüdiger Grube for his successful tenure as Chairman of the HHLA Supervisory Board.

Over the past eight years, we have experienced very important moments, both globally and within HHLA, and Prof. Dr. Rüdiger Grube has guided the company through many important processes. We wish him every success in his future endeavors and are pleased to have finance expert Marcus Vitt succeed him as President.”

In addition to Prof. Dr. Rüdiger Grube, the current representatives of the City of Hamburg, Andreas Rieckhof (State Secretary of the Economic Authority) and Dr. Sibylle Roggencamp (Head of the Investment Management Office of the Finance and District Authority), will also leave their position on the HHLA Supervisory Board with effect from 30 September 2025.

According to the Appointments Committee of the HHLA Supervisory Board, as of October 1, 2025, Vitt (Chairman of the Board of the Hamburg Stock Exchange) will join the Supervisory Board Dressel (Director of the Finance and Districts Authority) and Kriston (Director of the Central Office of the Economics Authority, Employment and Innovation). The application for the judicial appointment of the three new members will be submitted shortly.

The HHLA Supervisory Board is composed of 12 members, with an equal number of representatives of the workers plus the shareholders.
