France’s Le Havre Ro-Ro terminal has played host to its first ship-to-ship LNG bunkering operation.

The 18,600 cubic metre-capacity LNG bunker vessel (LNGBV) Gas Agility, which is chartered by TotalEnergies, supplied the Lake Travis Ro-Ro vessel with 2,400 cbm of LNG last Thursday (28 August).

‘This operation involved numerous actors: HAROPA PORT teams, terminal handlers, TotalEnergies, the Humann & Taconet shipping agency, Eastern Pacific Shipping, V-Ship France, and the crews of both ships, ensuring optimal safety and strict compliance with regulations,’ HAROPA PORT said.

The operation marked the first LNG fuelling at Le Havre Ro-Ro terminal since it received the ‘LNG Ready Terminal’ label from Le Havre harbour master’s office in June.

‘The “LNG Ready” label certifies that the terminal has harmonised its practices to accommodate LNG-fueled ships by adapting its safety procedures, training its staff, and informing its visitors,’ HAROPA PORT said.
