Gulf Marine Services (GMS), a provider of advanced self‐propelled self‐elevating support vessels, was awarded a two‐year contract for a K-class vessel with an unnamed national oil company in the Middle East North Africa region

GMS executive chairman Mansour Al Alami commented, “This contract award further reflects an increase in day rate and utilisation levels across the entire fleet, confirming our expectations of a tightening market. Gulf Marine Services continues to strengthen its position, with higher levels of utilisation locked in for the year and increasingly into 2023.”
The contract will commence May 2022 and brings total secured utilisation for the year to 88%. The company will also announce its 2021 results in the second week of May.

Maersk Drilling was awarded one-well extension from ONE-Dyas, a Dutch exploration and production company, to continue employing the harsh environment jack-up Maersk Resolute in the Dutch North Sea.
The one-well contract extension is expected to commence in May 2022 in direct continuation of the rig’s current work scope, with an estimated duration of 75 days. The extension is valued at approximately US$6.3M.

2008-built Maersk Resolute is a Gusto-engineered MSC CJ50 high-efficiency jack-up rig currently operating in the Dutch sector of the North Sea where it is scheduled to commence a 19-month plugging and abandonment contract upon completion of its contract with ONE-Dyas.

The Offshore Support Journal Conference will be held 15 June 2022. Details and tickets can be found here
