Exmar has announced that it has placed an order for four scrubber-equipped newbuild Suezmax tankers, with an option to order four more.

The vessels will be built by Daehan Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. at its Mokpo shipyard, in South-Korea, the Antwerp-based owner said in a statement today (22 September).

The 157,200 DWT vessels will be capable of transporting about 1 million of barrels of oil.

‘The order is placed in view of the strong prospects for the Suezmax market,’ Exmar said.

The first vessel will be delivered in Q3 2027.
