NYK will merge two of its research and technical companies, Keihin Dock Co., Ltd. and Yokohama Machinery Co., Ltd., as part of a strategic business integration in engineering.
By integrating Keihin Dock, the only shipbuilding company within the NYK Group, and Yokohama Machinery, which specializes in the sale of marine equipment and related products, the company aims to consolidate its technical and sales capabilities and strengthen its sales force.
Effective October 1, Yokohama Machinery will be absorbed by Keihin Dock, resulting in an organizational integration. The newly established Yokohama Machinery Department at Keihin Dock’s head sales office will inherit the functions of Yokohama Machinery.
“By deepening our core businesses and investments in new ventures, the Group aims to commercialize its shipping business through the development and sale of new technologies and services,” NYK said in a public statement.
