The service order for the preparation of hydrographic surveys, structure prospecting, the basic dredging project, the basic rock removal project, and the basic project for remodeling the breakwaters at the entrance to the Port of Laguna was signed this Wednesday (24).
The ceremony took place at the Secretariat of Ports, Airports, and Railways of Santa Catarina, in Florianópolis. The funds were allocated by the Southern Caucus deputies in July of last year.
The Infras Coastalport Laguna consortium has a 12-month deadline to deliver the completed projects, and, according to representative André Marques, the goal is to complete them within a shorter timeframe.
“We are taking an important step. We have discussed the dredging of the Tubarão River at length, and it would not be possible to think about that without discussing the Barra de Laguna channel. This work will have an impact on the entire region. We were eager for the project to begin. We hope the company can finish it as quickly as possible, because we are in a hurry,” said deputy Pepê Collaço, coordinator of the caucus at the time the amendment was allocated.
“Despite all the bureaucracy, we must commend the effort made for this future project, which is truly very important. The Southern Caucus fulfilled its role,” added the president of the Legislative Assembly, Deputy Julio Garcia.
