At 13:58 on September 28, the first 115,000-ton crude oil tanker CHB3021, built by Daishan Changhong Shipbuilding for Greece’s VIRONO MARITIME S.A., smoothly sailed out of the dock. It successfully completed all construction milestones within the dock and is set to transition to the new stages of outfitting and equipment debugging at the wharf. The second ship in the same series, CHB3022, also commenced its side-tracking ceremony on the same day, initiating the next round of dock operations and achieving seamless connection in rhythm production.

The milestone moment was jointly witnessed by the owner’s Technical Manager Mr. Michael Moschonas, the owner’s representative Mr. Georgios Roussos, ABS Class Society East China Regional General Manager Mr. Zhang Yiming, Daishan Changhong Shipbuilding General Manager Mr. Geng Hongwei, as well as the SMC supervision team, ABS surveyors, and principal responsible persons from various company departments.

As a flagship product of Daishan Changhong Shipbuilding, the CHB3021 has attracted significant industry attention since its commencement. The vessel has an overall length of 249.9 meters, a length between perpendiculars of 245.5 meters, a molded breadth of 44 meters, a molded depth of 21.5 meters, and a scantling draft of 15.2 meters. Its maximum deadweight is 115,000 tons, with a cargo hold capacity of 132,000 cubic meters, capable of loading approximately 830,000 barrels of crude oil or refined products. The hull adopts a vertical bow design, balancing speed performance under both design draft and scantling draft conditions, significantly reducing comprehensive fuel consumption. The power system is equipped with a 6G60ME main engine and a large-diameter propeller, integrated with devices such as an anti-vortex fin and an energy-saving duct, effectively enhancing propulsion efficiency and carbon emission control levels.

The successful undocking of the CHB3021 not only demonstrates Changhong International Shipbuilding’s robust technical capabilities but also lays a solid foundation for the enterprise to establish standardized production processes and achieve batch shipbuilding. Subsequently, Daishan Changhong Shipbuilding will take this undocking as a new starting point, continuously refining construction technology and strictly controlling product quality to contribute greater strength towards achieving the company’s grand strategic objectives.
