The Norwegian company will realize a capital gain of 89 million with the sale to an unidentified buyer
Oslo – The Norwegian shipowner 2020 Bulkers, listed in Oslo, has signed an agreement for the sale of three 208,000 dwt newcastlemaxes to an unconnected third party, for a total value of 209 million dollars. The ships involved are the Bulk Sandefjord and the Bulk Santiago, both built in 2019, and the Bulk Shenzhen, from 2020.
The transactions, subject to standard closing conditions, are expected to be completed within the first quarter of 2026. Until then, the company will maintain the operating cash flows of the three units.
2020 Bulkers expects to record a net accounting capital gain of approximately 89 million dollars upon completion of the operations. The Board of Directors will subsequently decide how to allocate the proceeds from the sale. The company currently has six newcastlemaxes in its fleet, all equipped with exhaust gas cleaning systems.
