Within the framework of implementing the state’s vision to reduce customs release time, Walid Gamal El-Din, President of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone, and Eng. Hassan Al-Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of Egypt, inaugurated the second phase of the Central Industrial Zones of the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) within the Port of Sokhna.
The facilities aim for the real-time inspection of exported and incoming goods, which contributes to accelerating customs clearance procedures and reducing their duration to just two days, in support of Egypt’s position in international trade indicators.
During the inauguration, the SCZone Trade digital platform was showcased, which governs customs and technical procedures; enhances the investor experience and the ease of doing business and boosts exports and increases the competitive advantages of the global economic zone.
