The Ministry of Public Works of Bolivia tendered the Pre-Investment Technical Design Study for the construction of the road access to the Bolivia-Brazil binational bridge over the Mamoré River, which will connect Guayaramerín (Beni) and Guajará-Mirim (Rondônia).
“We are tendering this very important project so that the technical design study can be carried out for an amount exceeding USD 405,000, financed by the Corporación Andina de Fomento,” explained the Minister of Public Works, Services and Housing of Bolivia, Edgar Montaño.
The government authority indicated that the road access to the binational bridge will have a length of more than 18.2 kilometers, with rigid pavement, and its study will take about 10 months. The envelopes with the proposals from the interested companies will be opened on the 27th of this month.
After 122 years since the signing of the Treaty of Petrópolis and the 1971 exchange of notes, in August of this year the presidents of Bolivia, Luis Arce, and of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, witnessed the signing of the contract for the construction of the bridge over the Mamoré River, between Guayaramerín and Guajará-Mirim.
In a massive public event, the Government of Brazil signed the service order agreement for the construction of the long-awaited binational bridge over the Mamoré River, which will have a length of more than 1,200 meters and whose execution will take about three years.
The construction of the bridge has a guaranteed investment of at least USD 88 million.
