Finnlines reported a 14% increase in private passenger numbers during the summer of 2025 compared with the same period in 2024. The rise was led by a 38% growth on the Malmö–Świnoujście route, which opened in April 2024.

Between June and August 2025, the company saw increases across several routes. Passenger numbers rose 19% on Naantali–Långnäs–Kapellskär, and by 4% on both Malmö–Travemünde and Helsinki–Travemünde.

The introduction of the new vessels Finnsirius and Finncanopus in 2023 and 2024 improved the travel experience on the Sweden–Finland route and contributed to higher demand.

Finnlines plans to continue offering themed seasonal cruises. In October, the company will host autumn holiday sailings between Finland and Sweden, featuring Halloween-themed activities for children, such as candy bingo, pumpkin hunts, and entertainment from performers.
