Marín has moved until the month of August close to 90,000 tons of frozen fish in its different presentations, recording a 10% increase in the first eight months of the year in the non-containerized presentation of this merchandise. The president of the Port Authority of Marín and Ría de Pontevedra, José Benito Suárez Costa, has highlighted “the weight and relevance of the companies in the port of Marín.” He did so at the international frozen seafood fair, Conxemar, which this year reaches its 26th edition.

The cold storage plants in the port of Marín provide services for the reception, storage, and processing of frozen fish and are one of the main economic engines for the entire region due to their potential to generate employment in the area. The president of the Port Authority pointed out the significant investment effort made by the port’s cold storage plants “which are clearly committing to energy efficiency and sustainability, in line with the environmental strategy of the Port Authority,” Suárez Costa acknowledged.
