The technology group Wärtsilä and Seagems have renewed their Lifecycle Agreement to deliver maintenance work to their offshore support fleet, along with improving reliability and reducing the vessels’ carbon footprint.
“Over the years, Wärtsilä has provided high-quality and value-added services to our offshore support vessels. The renewal and expansion of the current agreement will support our long-term operational goals for these vessels, particularly in improving efficiency, reliability, and sustainability,” said Ricardo Bicudo, Operations Director of Seagems.
By expanding the scope of the Lifecycle Agreement, Seagems gains direct access to greater reliability, operational cost savings, the incorporation of enhanced energy management and control software, where the Wärtsilä Data Collection Unit with cloud services and remote monitoring will provide seamless visibility of vessel performance and enable proactive management of maintenance needs.
With Expert Insight, a predictive maintenance solution that leverages real-time vessel data, potential issues can be identified before they affect operations, thereby minimizing downtime and unexpected repairs. Under this agreement, Seagems will also be able to benefit from customized field services for engines and propulsion systems, thus ensuring the smooth, safe, and sustainable operation of their vessels throughout their lifetime.
“This renewed contract further strengthens our long-standing collaboration with Seagems, reflecting the trust in our shared commitment to operational excellence and sustainable growth in the maritime sector. Our goal is always to achieve greater operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance predictability, while supporting our customers on their decarbonization journey,” stated Henrik Wilhelms, Director of Agreement Sales at Wärtsilä Marine.
The Seagems fleet specializes in operations such as platform support, supply operations, and subsea services.
