The LNG carrier freight market recorded losses last week, with freight rates retreating slightly.

According to a report by the shipbroker Fearnleys, the chartering cost of a /XDF LNG carrier, with a capacity of approximately 174,000 c.m., recorded a drop in the week ending Wednesday, October 8th. Specifically, east of Suez, freight rates are now set at $25,000 daily (-$1,000), while west of Suez at $22,000 daily (-$1,000).

Regarding the one-year time charter market, the chartering cost of a /XDF LNG carrier, with a capacity of approximately 174,000 c.m., also decreased by $1,000 and amounts to $35,000 daily.
