Last week, container shipping rates fell by 1% on a weekly basis, to $1651 per FEU. This is the 17th consecutive weekly decrease and the lowest value reached since January 2024.
Rates decreased on the transpacific trade for freight along the Shanghai – Los Angeles routes, down 1%, to $2176 per FEU. Values on the Shanghai – New York route, however, remained stable, holding around $3189 per FEU.
On the Asia – Europe trade, rates recorded the ninth consecutive weekly decline, settling at an average of $1577 and $1793 per FEU on the Shanghai – Rotterdam (-2%) and Shanghai – Genoa (-1%) routes, respectively.
