GENOA – “I confirm the utmost availability to meet the associations and I anticipate that in the coming days the representatives of the committees will be summoned for a meeting at Palazzo San Giorgio to start the discussion without any preconception by the AdSP” – This was declared by the president of the AdSP of the Western Ligurian Sea, Matteo Paroli, regarding the requests for a meeting, highlighted by the local press, from the citizens’ committees following the works carried out as part of one of the construction phases for the creation of a new super dry dock dedicated to shipbuilding in the Sestri Ponente area, specifically the piling phase concluded in April 2025.

“As soon as I was informed ten days ago by the commissioner structure” – specified Paroli – “of the need to start a dialogue by the consumer associations following the inconveniences reported during the works carried out for the creation of the new dry dock in the Sestri Ponente area, I summoned the commissioner structure itself and the internal offices of the AdSP in order to understand the situation in detail and a legally complicated picture emerged. Following the internal meetings, I therefore deemed a discussion with the District State Attorney’s Office indispensable, which took place promptly last Wednesday, following which the request by the AdSP for a formal clarification opinion regarding some of the issues raised by the committees is being formalized.”

The president of the Western Ligurian System concludes: “This, in any case, does not preclude the possibility of meeting and dialoguing immediately with the representatives of the consumer associations for a discussion that helps to understand even better the situation that has arisen, pending the release of the opinion from the Attorney’s Office and the subsequent technical steps possibly required.”
