China News Service, October 13 (Reporter) – The State Council Information Office held a press conference on October 13 regarding the import and export situation in the first three quarters of 2025. A reporter asked: How does Customs view the impact of the Sino-US fees imposed on each other’s ships docking on October 14 on China’s imports and exports?

Lü Daliang, spokesperson of the General Administration of Customs and Director of the Department of Statistical Analysis, stated that the issue of vessel harbor dues has been addressed multiple times by relevant departments previously. The US measures are typical unilateral and protectionist actions with obvious discriminatory overtones. China’s countermeasures are necessary defensive actions, taken both to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese industries and enterprises and as essential measures to maintain a fair competitive environment in the international shipping and shipbuilding markets. We hope the US side can face up to its own mistakes, meet China halfway, and return to the correct path of dialogue and consultation.
