This vessel is not just a new addition to the fleet, but it’s a symbol of our vision for the future of bunkering in Singapore and beyond.
The Fratelli Cosulich Group marked a major milestone in its journey towards sustainable bunkering with the launch of Maya Cosulich – the world’s first methanol-powered IMO II chemical bunker tanker.
Maya Cosulich, designed by SeaTech Solutions International Pte Ltd, features diesel-electric propulsion, an onboard battery solution, and two mass flow meters (MFMs). It’s fully compliant with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s (MPA) methanol bunkering standards, and sets a new benchmark for safe and efficient delivery of alternative marine fuels in the region.
Upon her arrival and delivery to Singapore by the end of 2025, this vessel will commence operations under time charter with TFG Marine, becoming the first methanol dual-fuel bunker tanker to operate in the Port of Singapore. Kenneth Dam, Head of Bunkering at TFG Marine, said the delivery of Maya Cosulich is excellent news for TFG Marine and for the Singapore bunkering market. “Its addition to our fleet further strengthens our ability to offer customers a reliable and transparent supply of marine fuels, while supporting the industry’s transition towards low-carbon alternatives.”
Guido Cardullo, Head of Marine Energy at the Fratelli Cosulich Group, said Maya Cosulich represents their commitment to innovation and collaboration in the energy transition. “Together with TFG Marine and our partners, we are demonstrating that sustainable solutions can go hand-in-hand with operational excellence. This vessel is not just a new addition to our fleet, but it’s a symbol of our vision for the future of bunkering in Singapore and beyond.”
Moreover, the Maya Cosulich project represents a culmination of a collaboration that began between Fratelli Cosulich Group, TFG Marine, the MPA, and their technical and shipyard partners in 2023. It reflects a shared commitment to the advancement of low-emission, alternative marine fuel solutions. The Fratelli Cosulich Group added that they are honoured to celebrate this milestone with our esteemed customers, partners, and colleagues, whose presence made the day even more meaningful.
“As we move towards delivery, Maya Cosulich stands as a symbol of progress — proof that the transition to cleaner fuels is not only possible, but already underway.”
