Ministry of Transport Announcement on Initiating an Investigation into the Impact on the Security and Development Interests of the Shipping Industry, Shipbuilding Industry, and Related Industrial and Supply Chains

To safeguard the security and development interests of China’s shipping industry, shipbuilding industry, and related industrial and supply chains, in accordance with laws and regulations such as the National Security Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law of the People’s Republic of China and its implementing provisions, and the International Maritime Transportation Regulations of the People’s Republic of China, our ministry, in conjunction with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other departments, is conducting an investigation into the impact or potential impact of the US Section 301 investigation on the security and development interests of China’s shipping industry, shipbuilding industry, and related industrial and supply chains. The investigation will also examine whether relevant enterprises, organizations, or individuals have implemented, assisted, or supported the United States in adopting discriminatory restrictive measures against China in the shipping industry, shipbuilding industry, and related industrial and supply chains, as well as other related matters. Corresponding measures will be introduced in due course based on the investigation findings.

During the investigation period, relevant enterprises, associations, individuals, and stakeholders are welcome to provide leads, report situations, and offer opinions and suggestions.
