A fire occurred on a ship at Ceyport Port, located in the Taşucu Neighborhood of Silifke district, Mersin.
According to information received, a fire broke out for an unknown reason in the empty crew cabin of the cargo ship named Alara 2, which was moored at the port. Upon this, firefighting teams were dispatched to the area. The fire was extinguished around 01:00 at night with the intervention of the teams.
Approximately 2.5 hours later, a fire broke out again at the same spot. The fire was extinguished in the morning hours with the intervention of teams that were waiting as a precaution. It was learned that 2 personnel who intervened in the fire were affected by the smoke and hospitalized. It was reported that one of the treated personnel was discharged, while the other’s treatment continues.
