In the fourth quarter, Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. (DSIC) Dazhou Tianjin, anchoring its annual production targets and aiming for a final sprint to successfully conclude the year, is fully advancing production work in depth and substance. On October 20, it achieved three major production milestones: the undocking of two ships and the semi-float-off of one ship, driving project construction into “high gear” with a high-spirited and determined posture.
On October 20, the second 15,000 TEU methanol dual-fuel container ship (C16K-17) built for the French CMA CGM Group was successfully undocked, fully entering the underwater commissioning stage.
The construction of this ship in the dock achieved significant results, with many key indicators performing outstandingly. Learning from the experience of the first ship, the shaft and rudder system construction was comprehensively accelerated, completed 6 days ahead of the first ship; the main engine hoisting was efficiently completed in just 10 days; 24 piping systems were completed, and the engine room achieved full lighting; the special coating construction of the methanol tank took 27 days from scaffold handover inspection to MEK inspection completion, 7 days faster than the first ship. The comprehensive launching integrity score reached 91.2 points, laying a solid foundation for subsequent underwater commissioning.
On the same day, the 115,000-ton product oil tanker No. 85 (P110K-85) built for Greece’s Cape Shipping Company was successfully undocked, with a dock period of 90 days, 10 days ahead of the first ship.
During this period, the project team adhered to lean management principles and advanced various tasks to high standards. All ballast tanks achieved integrated “hull-outfitting-painting” construction, reaching complete painting on the scaffolding; the installation completion rate of outfitting items exceeded 95%; a cumulative total of 11 piping systems were handed over for inspection, and the undocking integrity score was 88 points, an increase of 6 points compared to the first ship.
On the same day, the third 15,000 TEU methanol dual-fuel container ship built for France’s CMA CGM achieved semi-float-off. This float-off involved a total of 46 grand blocks and 160 segments. Currently, all grand blocks below the engine room’s second platform affecting the sighting (alignment) milestone have been fully welded, post-weld inspection of the engine room bottom layer has been completed, some transverse bulkhead cables have been pulled and laid, and the installation and panel joining of the switchboard have been completed. Following the semi-float-off, efforts will continue, anchored to the sighting and undocking milestones, to create favorable conditions for the subsequent shaft and rudder system construction and main engine hoisting.
