As a strategic platform connecting China and the world, the CIIE provides enterprises with a window to observe China’s openness and a stage to seize opportunities in the Chinese market. The gathering of global products brings more consumption choices and rich experiences to Chinese consumers. Recently, CIIE exhibits from countries such as Peru and South Africa have arrived in Shanghai successively by sea. Shanghai immigration inspection authorities, in conjunction with port units, have opened a “green channel” for ships carrying CIIE exhibits to facilitate the safe and timely entry and setup of exhibits for the 8th CIIE.

“Among this batch of exhibits are items like dairy products that have stringent transportation requirements. The carrier customized a special support plan, relying on advanced constant temperature storage and transportation equipment throughout the process to build a stable and reliable ‘mobile refrigerator at sea’, making every effort to ensure the exhibits arrive in Shanghai in optimal condition,” said Wei Guo, head of the Waigaoqiao Office of Shanghai COSCO Shipping Container Transport Co., Ltd.

It is reported that Shanghai immigration inspection authorities and other port inspection units are working closely with relevant port and shipping enterprises to open a “green channel” for CIIE exhibits that covers the entire process of “transportation-clearance-unloading-transshipment”. This has become a solid link in the CIIE chain of “goods becoming exhibits, exhibits becoming commodities”. “The Waigaoqiao Immigration Inspection Station, in collaboration with port units, opened a ‘green channel’, providing the convenience of ‘pre-arrival inspection’ and ‘one-time completion’ for this ship, ensuring efficient and convenient clearance for the CIIE exhibits throughout the entire process,” said Gao Er, team leader of the Second Duty Team of the Waigaoqiao Immigration Inspection Station.

The CIIE “opening its doors to welcome guests” builds a broad stage for global enterprises. As the grand event approaches, a large number of exhibitors and the ships and cargo planes carrying exhibits will arrive intensively in Shanghai. To fully ensure smooth port clearance, Shanghai immigration inspection authorities have introduced eight facilitation measures, including dedicated CIIE immigration inspection channels, a dedicated CIIE hotline via the 12367 service platform, a “green channel” for CIIE exhibits, and on-site immigration management services at the exhibition venue.
