According to the latest cargo movement report from the National Port Authority of Peru (APN), the Port of Chancay consolidated itself -in August- as the third most important port in relation to container movement, being the second month of the year in that same position.
In the eighth month of 2025, the port complex managed by Cosco Shipping Ports transferred 34,913 twenty-foot units, surpassing Terminales Portuarios Euroandinos (TPE) which mobilized 34,554 TEU. In first place was the DP World Callao terminal with 175,150 standard measure containers, followed by APM Terminals Callao which added 97,119 TEU.
The fifth terminal with the most container movement was Terminal Portuario General San Martín, in Paracas, with a flow of 7,521 TEU.
It should be mentioned that the Port of Chancay, according to APN statistics, moved zero containers between January and May, beginning this operation consistently in June when it mobilized 22,318 TEU, being -at that time- the fourth terminal after DP World (172,124 TEU), APM Terminals (126,504 TEU) and TPE (31,581 TEU).
Meanwhile, in July, the port of Cosco Shipping Ports rose to the third Peruvian position with 29,674 TEU transferred, placing itself behind DP World (180,505 units) and APM Terminals (102,474 TEU) and leaving TPE in fourth place (29,313 TEU).
