APM Terminals Callao receives the Alpaca service

Must read

APM Terminals Callao began serving the Alpaca service, which connects Asia with the main Peruvian port complex, also having a direct connection with three Chilean ports.

The first call of this service occurred with the arrival of the MSC Lome V which, subsequently, heads to Arica, Iquique and San Antonio, where it will load fruit as part of the cherry export season shipments.

In the case of Peru, the service reduces transit times between the East and this point on the South American west coast, connecting both ends in 23 days.

“It is a logistics solution designed for the main Asian markets,” highlighted Fernando Fauche, commercial director of APM Terminals Callao.

APM Terminals also emphasized that this new route -considered a “logistical and commercial milestone”- will strengthen sectors such as technology, manufacturing, retail and mining, by streamlining imports and exports to Asia.
