DHL Global Forwarding accelerates digitalization and improves customer focus with organizational changes

DHL Global Forwarding, the air and sea transport specialist of the DHL Group, announced changes to its global board with the aim of accelerating digital transformation and improving responsiveness to customers in key growth regions.

To drive long-term performance and innovation, the firm is launching a new structure called “Accelerated Digitalization.” This initiative will expand digital capabilities, implement artificial intelligence-driven solutions, and reinforce DHL’s position as a digital leader in the global transport and logistics industry.

Tim Robertson, currently CEO of DHL Global Forwarding Americas, was appointed Executive Vice President of Accelerated Digitalization. The focus areas will include the accelerated transformation of the company’s service centers for administrative operations, the global implementation of automated customs processes using AI, and the launch of a digital concept to serve the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises. Robertson will continue to be a member of the DHL Global Forwarding Global Board.

Likewise, the company selected two new executives for its Global Board. Michael Young, currently CEO of DHL Global Forwarding USA, will lead the North America region (including the U.S. and Canada), and Erik Meade, currently General Director of DHL Global Forwarding Mexico, will lead the Latin America region (including Mexico, Brazil, Central America and the Caribbean, and Spanish-speaking South America).

Oscar de Bok, CEO of DHL Global Forwarding, stated that “by redoubling our efforts in digitalization and assigning dedicated focus at the board level for North America and Latin America, we seek to improve our execution and meet our growth ambitions. The appointment of Tim Robertson, an experienced executive with deep expertise in strategic management, operations, IT, and business process optimization, represents a major step forward.”
