At 08:08 on the morning of November 8th, the N1193 project, the first vessel in the 63,600-ton series bulk carrier built by Zhoushan COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry for CIDO Company, was successfully launched at the shipyard’s No. 2 berth.

Owner’s representative Keilsang Lee, American Bureau of Shipping representatives Liu Xuewen and Jeong been Moon, Zhoushan COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Assistant General Manager Ruan Junjie, along with representatives from the owner’s and classification society’s construction teams and the project construction team, attended the launching ceremony to witness this important milestone.

During the block construction phase of the N1193 project, Zhoushan COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry engaged in in-depth communication with the shipowner and the American Bureau of Shipping, successfully implementing the “Phased Construction Without Owner’s Supervision” management model. The shipyard fully assumed the primary responsibility for the quality of block construction and closely collaborated with the American Bureau of Shipping to jointly complete the inspection and acceptance of key milestones. By strictly implementing high-standard internal control processes and strengthening self-inspection and mutual inspection, the project’s construction quality received high praise and recognition from the shipowner and the classification society.

On September 19th, the project entered the berth assembly stage. Facing challenges such as labor allocation during the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays, the project team proactively gave up their leave and remained坚守 on the construction front line. By meticulously optimizing the construction process and strengthening seamless connections between various work procedures, the team effectively ensured the production schedule. Simultaneously, the project team closely focused on the predetermined assembly schedule and berth completeness targets, ensuring that the ship’s assembly could proceed rapidly and continuously.

Prior to the launch, a series of critical tasks were successively completed. These included ballast tank painting, engine room painting, shore power connection to the switchboard, commissioning of the monitoring and alarm system, load tests for the main generator and emergency generator, SCR system testing, automatic power station testing, external main lube oil stringing, cargo hold hatch cover opening and closing tests, shaft alignment, and the completion of steering gear epoxy pouring and installation. These achievements laid a solid foundation for the successful launch of the vessel.

Following the launch of the N1193 project, it has now transitioned to the dock mooring trial stage. The project team is steadily advancing various tests and construction work according to the established plan and milestones to ensure the vessel is delivered on schedule.
