Eijsink: “Difficult economic context but we are satisfied with the results we have achieved”
Hamburg – Despite a context characterized by macroeconomic pressures, geopolitical tensions and uncertainties related to US trade policy, the German logistics giant HHLA recorded a significant increase in revenue and profits in the first nine months of 2025. Consolidated revenue grew by 12.5% to 1,331.4 million euros (compared to 1,182.9 million the previous year), while the operating result (Ebit) increased by 25.7% to 117.1 million euros (2024: 93.2 million). The Ebit margin rose to 8.8% from 7.9% the previous year. Net profit after taxes and minority interests grew to 34.9 million euros (while in the same period of 2024 it had been 23.1 million). “HHLA has achieved good results in recent months, despite the difficulties of the economic context,” stated Jeroen Eijsink, the CEO. “We have increased handling and transport volumes, with positive effects on revenue and profits. In the coming months we will continue to work to position HHLA in a competitive and sustainable way, with the aim of growing further and strengthening our role as a reliable partner in the sector.” Container handling at HHLA terminals increased by 6.7%, reaching 4.798 million TEU. At the Hamburg terminals, the volume grew by 6.0% to 4.548 million TEU. Traffic with North America recorded a marked decline, while volumes to the Middle East decreased moderately. In contrast, traffic with the Far East (especially China), South America and Africa, as well as connections with other European ports, saw strong growth.
