The $500 million investment adds 955 meters of new pier and 510,000 sq.m. of additional land area, while the modern equipment – 12 quay cranes, 30 electric RTGs and over 90 trucks – increases capacity by 2.2 million TEUs annually.
Of particular importance is the adoption of electric equipment, an element that reflects the commitment of APM Terminals and Maersk to reducing emissions and to the green supply chain. The expansion creates more than 1,000 new jobs, boosting the local economy and the developmental course of the area.
