COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers Launches New Direct Route, Accelerating Fuzhou Auto Exports to the Persian Gulf

Must read

COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers subsidiary, Guangzhou Yuanhai Auto Carrier, has officially launched the “Fuzhou – Persian Gulf” direct shipping route, marking a major boost for vehicle exports from Fuzhou City. The inaugural voyage commenced on October 1, when the vessel “ORCHID LEADER” smoothly docked at the Jiangyin Port area of Fuzhou Port.

The “ORCHID LEADER” is the largest dual-fuel car carrier to ever berth at Fuzhou Port since ro-ro operations began there. It has a capacity of 7,000 CEUs (Car Equivalent Units) and can accommodate various vehicle types, including large-sized MAFI cargo. Its LNG dual-fuel power system gives the vessel a significant edge in green and low-carbon operations, aligning with the sustainable brand image of manufacturers like Jetour Auto.

For its inaugural voyage, the vessel loaded a total of 1,697 vehicles produced by local Fuzhou enterprises, including Chery and Jetour. These vehicles will travel directly along the “21st Century Maritime Silk Road” to countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, specifically the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, and Kuwait.

The new “door-to-door” direct service achieves a seamless connection for Fuzhou-produced vehicles, spanning the journey from the factory gate to the final destination port. This streamlined logistics channel has successfully shortened the logistics time flow by nearly 50%, drastically improving export efficiency for local manufacturers.

Leveraging convenience measures at Fuzhou’s Jiangyin Port Area, such as “24-hour customs clearance” and “direct loading upon arrival,” the “ORCHID LEADER” began operations immediately upon docking. An intelligent dispatching system coordinated the efficient loading of vehicles, ensuring a prompt departure.

Guangzhou Yuanhai Auto Carrier, as China’s largest professional international transportation service platform for automobiles and ships, plans to increase the frequency of the Fuzhou to Persian Gulf route. The company will fully leverage its green dual-fuel vessels and intelligent loading technology to provide comprehensive “door-to-door” logistics solutions for more “Fujian-made” automobiles seeking entry into the global market.
